The Magdala on the Lake Restaurant is a favourite venue for both motel and guests and residents of Stawell and nearby towns and is considered to be one of the best restaurants in the Stawell and Grampians region. With picture windows curving around half the restaurant, guests have a sweeping view of the lake and gardens. Once the sun sets the gardens and water's edge are floodlit. During winter an open fire provides warmth and atmosphere. Being a non-smoking venue, dining out at the Magdala is a pleasant experience.

The a la carte menu takes advantage of seasonal foods, is changed three times a year, and the style of presentation is contemporary. Vegetarians are catered for, and provided prior notice is given, vegans or guests with other special dietary requirements can be accommodated.

The fully licensed restaurant has an extensive cellar specialising in Grampians and Pyrenees wines, while wines from other regions of Australia also feature. For guests who prefer non-alcoholic drinks, a number of 'mocktails' (fruit and soft drink based) are available. A children's menu is available for the under 12 year olds.

ENTREE

Oysters Natural — Served with lemon and tabasco sauce.
Oysters Kilpatrick — 1/2 Dozen or Dozen.

Garlic Prawns — Served with jasmine rice.

Smoked Salmon — Slices of smoked salmon served on a bed of fresh lettuce with spanish onions and capers.

MAIN

Fillet Steak — Cooked to your liking and served with marquise potato, seasonal vegetables and béarnaise sauce.

Porterhouse Steak — Cooked to your liking and served with marquise potato and salad or seasonal vegetables with your choice of Pepper or Mushroom sauce or gravy.

Chicken Breast — Filled with basil pesto and camembert cheese with marquise potato, seasonal vegetables and gravy.

Lasagne — Traditional layered lasagne topped with mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
